I'll ruin the punch line first....my Aunt R got 3rd in her age category!!!!!
Saturday morning we headed a little inland to watch G, Aunt R, Uncle W and 2 cousins run the Camp Pendleton 10K Mud Run. Here's all the contestants at the start---4000 of them!!
There were numerous obstacles around the course, but the grand finale was the mud pit!!

After the race, we invited everyone back to the beachside cabin we were staying in for a BBQ lunch. It was 94 degrees when we left the race site, but when we got back to the beach (20 miles away) it was 73 degrees due to the ocean breeze and cloud cover.
